In the shadows of the kingdom, The Old One looms. Take on the role of a cult leader, managing the delicate balance between growing your followers and appeasing a powerful, ancient monster.
In this resource management game, every decision matters. Will you aim to use the Old One's power to grow your influence and rule the kingdom, or seek to restore its power and unleash it on the world? Each day, you'll make strategic decisions to grow your cult, recruit new followers, and gather wealth. Each night, you'll face the daunting task of keeping the monster satisfied—sacrificing followers or offering treasure to prevent it from breaking free and engulfing you, and the kingdom with it.
Balance your number of Followers, Wealth of the Cult, the Hunger of the Old One and its Co-operation in your endeavours to reach one of 6 endings. Will you be able to manage your cult and appease the monster to ascend to godhood, or will the shadows swallow you whole?
This game was created for Godot Wild Jam #79 - Growing. It uses the Wildcard One Handed, requiring only one hand to play. Simply click on your chosen option to advance the game.

Fun concept and execution. I wish it was a bit more clear what resource to prioritize but I guess with different endings perhaps there isn't a "correct" answer. I enjoyed the presentation of the above and below world, it created just enough world building/narrative in essentially 2 screens which is cool.
Totally agree - I didn't get enough time this jam to really polish the actual resource management or get a proper tutorial in. Thanks for the feedback
